What a weekend! I am still reliving the fantastic time that I had at Simply Stylist in Chicago at The Dana Hotel! I was so delighted to meet so many fellow bloggers and major fashion world influencers. It was a terrific learning experience and a great way to meet influencers in fashion and beauty that I definitely look up to! Seriously, meeting Marcellas Reynolds, Catt Salder of E! News, Jacey Duprie from Damsel in Dior, and Corri McFadden of e-Dropoff was a dream come true!
The panel consisted of the fabulous Sazan Barzani, Jacey Duprie, Corri McFadden, and Joey Maalouf. They each had so many great tips on how to nurture your passion so that it blooms into something amazing. Their stories of their successes and failures and how they worked through it made me laugh, smile, and feel inspired. I definitely left the panel feeling extremely motivated to get Step Inside My Closet to its fullest potential.
Before the panel was a yummy brunch to start of the day meeting new people and after the panel was a party at which networking with others was taken to the next level! I'm glad I got the chance to introduce myself to the panelists, Sarah Boyd, the creator of Simply Stylist, and other bloggers!
As a fashion blogger attending a fashion event, I wanted to put a lot of thought into what I was wearing. Currently, I'm taking a lot of fashion cues from Taylor Swift, and was overjoyed when I found one of her concert looks that I could afford to wear! While giving a performance at Le Grand Journal last October, Taylor wore this matching crop top and skirt set from RVN. It's a totally minimalistic and cute set that is extremely comfortable. While she wore the blue hued set, I gravitated towards the black and white set. This look is so trendy and I definitely want to wear something similar when I see Taylor Swift live on her 1989 tour!
Heels. They are a fashionista and most importantly a short girl's best friend. For this five foot fashionista, a classic set of pumps is all I desire. This darling pair of black pumps is Proto by Steve Madden. They are so comfortable and so versatile. From day to night, you can bet these will be on my feet 24/7.
To carry all my goodies I brought my Loeffler Randall black bag which, you might think is small - but it holds so much! It held my cute bulky items like my Eat Cake For Breakfast pink Kate Spade notebook and matching Eat Cake For Breakfast iPhone case (which came in handy for the insane amount of Instagrams I was posting! @StepInsideMyCloset!)
