Throwback Thursday

I'm living throwback Thursday quite authentically - in the town of Lebanon, Ohio. The main staple of the town, and my favorite part, is the Golden Lamb. It's a historic building that has catered to many presidents over time, full of quaint characteristics and a comforting old-time feel. The Golden Lamb embodies the feel of the entire town. Quaint, full of history, and the perfect place to feel at home. 

I wanted my outfit to resemble the scenery and rich colonial feel of the town by sporting my Steve Madden burgundy military jacket. This jacket, much like this setting, is pretty vintage. Like I've said in previous posts, I love a good statement jacket, and military jackets fit the bill perfectly. The cinched waist and structured design of this jacket makes it look fierce open or closed. Paired with a simple black tee underneath, it's a great garment to throw on with your skinny jeans and favorite pair of boots.

...Speaking of boots. This chic pair of tough combat boots are from Timberland, the mecca of all combat boots. It goes perfectly with my jacket, really adding to the feel of the whole colonial attire. 

Walking throughout the city of Lebanon after a full on feast (delish! I recommend the relish platter w/extra pickled watermelon rind + turkey dinner.)  at the Golden Lamb is just the way I like to spend some of my weekends at home. Not to mention the old time ice cream parlor just across the street...

Wild Heart

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Love is in the air - especially for fashion. I wore my heart on my dress today in my Wildfox pink heart dress that had me swooning. 

The army green color of the dress gravitated me toward my Timberland combat boots. Unfortunately since the groundhog saw it's shadow - it's just too cold not to put on some solid black leg warmers. 

Adding a touch of cuteness and most importantly warmth, leg warmers have become my very best friend during this cold drought. 

For jewelry I kept it minimal and put on this "Sealed With A Kiss" Envelope Pendant from Style Yourself In Chloe + Isabel. 

I thought that a love note type of necklace like this was perfect for the month of love.

Style Yourself in Chloe + Isabel Giveaway

I know I've mentioned it before in a few of my older posts, but accessories are what can make or break a simple outfit. Whether it's earrings, a necklace, or bracelets, they're the extra oomph or the pop that your outfit needs. I don't want to giveaway anything, but you could have your hands on some accessories if you keep reading...

I started my simple outfit with my new Ann Taylor Loft emerald-y green top. This top is fabulous because although it doesn't have a true peplum style bottom, it gives the appearance of one, which I adore. It was very comfortable too, but I loved how it went with my Chloe + Isabel Multi-Strand Signature Torsade Necklace.

From pearls to chains to rhinestones - this necklace literally holds everything and brings it all together beautifully. It's the perfect statement piece for any simple top like the one I have on. To keep up with my admiration for Chloe + Isabel jewelry I put on my Bead + Chain Multi Wrap bracelet.

The colors on this bracelet get along great with my top, and even have the layered affect that the necklace gives off as well. But as much as I love the colorful beads, a girl can't do without some sparkle. Although they're studs, these Chloe + Isabel Crystal Square Stud Earrings are great to wear with any outfit, really. I love studs like this, they're easy to go with simple outfits to the escalated.

I decided to stray away from the girliness a tad for my shoes, so I laced up my brown Timberland Mid Boots. I like the type of boots that have the laces in the front, but have that sneaky easy zipper on the side inside of the hassle of lacing and re-lacing every time you want to wear them. These boots are extremely comfortable, and are tight enough that you can wear them with leggings, skirts, or even jeans - like the comfy go-to pair of Abercrombie & Fitch skinny jeans that I wore with this outfit. Everyone's got their go-to jeans and I say that you can't go wrong with Abercrombie, or even Gilly Hicks. Both are comfortable and last you forever.
