Lights, Camera, Snow Day

Step Inside My Closet - Featuring Kate Spade, H&M, The Shopping Bag (winter fashion, fuzzy sweater, statement jewelry, statement purse)
Lights, Camera, Snow Day! The snow has made its presence along the East Coast this week, making for a lot of cozy snow days. A go to snow day thing to do of mine is snuggle up with a hot cocoa and my favorite movie - but today I decided to transform my snow day activity into something a little more chic.

Making me feel like I was wrapped up in a cozy blanket, this stylish H&M Grey Knit Sweater kept me warm admits all the glistening snow. The fluffy yarn engulfing the sweater gives this outfit a fun quirky look still giving off a high fashion street style vibe.

For even more comfort I put on my go to Abercrombie & Fitch Super Skinny jeans which are hands down my favorite pair. They have the tight fit of a jegging but with the luxury of pockets. I honestly don't know if I could ever wear any other fit of jean other than skinny since I've grown so accustomed to throwing these on everyday!

Going back to the high fashion street style vibe...these boots! Burberry does everything right in my book, and these black suede pointed boots are no exception. The bit of heel and tight fit of the pair give the pointed toe an even more dramatic edge. So minimalist, but so breathtakingly gorgeous! I know I could say that about just every other shoe that catches my eye, but this pair is a classic that I can keep forever.

Bringing this outfit all together is my Kate Spade Light The Sparklers Cinema City bag. Its light hearted and insanely adorable, embodying the whole theme of the outfit. This bag is the perfect detailed accessory to spice up a minimalistic look.

Jewels! Reflecting the bright white luminous snow is this silver rhinestone statement necklace. I got this necklace at a glitzy boutique, and as much as I love it, I'm putting it on my Bloggers Closet for you to own! It's heavy look is deceiving since it's so light, but it definitely is an eye catcher!
Speaking of eye catchers, check out these Helen Pave Studs from The Shopping Bag! A whole sphere of rhinestones gives this look an even more great glitzy touch.

I pulled a bold move for my nails and lips with this deep red Julep nail polish in the color Myrtle and (Taylor Swift recommended!) NARS lip pencil in the color Dragon Girl

So, what's your favorite movie to watch on a cozy snow day? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me on twitter, @SInsideMyCloset so we can chat!

All About Bean

Step Inside My Closet - Ivy Bee Decals, Apple MacBook, French Bull Dogs, Daily Dose of Bean
Happy National Bean Day, everyone! I'm not celebrating this day with just any old beans, but rather my very own French Bulldog, Bean! Ever since I've gotten her I have become completely obsessed with French Bulldogs, so I was tickled when I found out a way to incorporate my obsession in with my blogging.

That's where Ivy Bee Decals comes in. Specializing in decals for your walls, iPads, or Macs, her vinyl decals can stick to anything! I'm in love with every single one of Ivy Bee Decal's decals. Lot's of them include animals, just like this French Bulldog decal that looks exactly like my baby, Bean! The decals almost interact with your Mac or other device, letting your workspace and laptop come to life! This was a major plus for me since I believe in the fact that if you have what you love around you when you work, then everything will be more efficient and you will be happier.

I'm pretty sure that Bean enjoyed Ivy Bee Decals too, she's computer obsessed just like her mama! Want more of Bean? The girl's got herself her very own Instagram @DailyDoseOfBean! Hopefully your week gets better with a new sassy decal and a daily dose of my little Bean!

New Year, New Looks: 2014 Recap

Step Inside My Closet 2014 Recap

Happy 2015, everyone! I'm so excited for all the things that this new year will bring, along with all the new looks that will be popping up on Step Inside My Closet. These two years of running Step Inside My Closet have filled me with joy and have only fueled the passions that I incorporate into this blog even more. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such a lovely following, and hope that I accomplish my goal of helping others through my posts. May 2015 bring you health, happiness, and a  whole lot of style! Heres a look back at all of my looks from the duration of 2014.

I can't say that I have a favorite look, so in honor of 2015, here are 15 of my favorite looks from this year.

When this look was posted on Step Inside My Closet, I think it really was the start of me showing my complete obsession with anything sparkly. The Viktor & Rolf dress that I wear is still a dress that I hold near and dear to my heart. It's so subtle, but at the same time so extraordinary!

The perfect outfit for Valentine's Day! The Wildfox Couture dress that I wear in this post is the ultimate girly must have. It's so cozy and comfortable, but at the same time it shows off a great girly and fun side.

Hey, Y'all! OMG, this peach dress from The Shopping Bag can make anyone have a dainty southern girl side emerge. Paired with bright colored J. Crew flats and a white floral necklace from The Shopping Bag, this outfit is sure to pick up all those cute southern boys.

The Wildfox chandelier top that I was wearing in this post really was brought to life by the sparkling Abercrombie & Fitch necklace I was wearing. It's an everyday look that was spiced up with shiny accessories!

If I could wear a Reem Acra dress everyday then I would. This rose colored dress had me swooning and feeling like a complete princess. This look could easily become one of my favorites. It had the perfect touches of sparkle, color, and daintiness. So royal.

Bam! This outfit was a statement. A cutout tight black dress, Tiffany sunglasses, a Kate Spade clutch, and  Louboutins. Lots of brands, but boy did this minimalistic high end look make me feel like a million dollars!

This outfit resolved around the perfect striped summer crop top from The Shopping Bag. It was a bit nautical looking, but still is a casual and cute everyday look that I might just wear again this summer!

Rawr! This Avril Lavigne rocker chic look made me feel like a punk rock princess (hence the tiara...). The Fancy shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch was made to give off a total edgy vibe when paired with the studded necklace from The Shopping Bag!

Girly, everyday look that made me want to try any possible vibrant lipstick possible. Honestly, if I could pull off a Taylor Swift effortless red lip with this lipstick tank, then the outfit would have been even better!

So. Much. Sparkle. This birthday outfit took the cake for my over the top and extravagant sequin and sparkle ensemble. Literally, from head to toe I felt like a disco ball in the sequined romper. It was a dream come true.

I'm vogue-ing. Literally. This DIY Vogue crop top made me feel like a trendy street fashion gal about to hit the streets of NYC. The sparkles and European-esque heels just pulled the outfit together incredibly.

So much color! This vibrant look made me feel like a mystical traveling garden. The bright blue pumps made my love for shoes (especially heels - lets be honest) become even stronger! I could really use this sunny look admit all this cold right now!

The three C's that are essential for a fantastic Halloween? Couture, candy, and confetti. This Candy Crush inspired look had me falling into a candy wonderland. The bright yellow dress I was wearing made me feel like a bright sun...or a sugary lemon drop!

You don't really hear about miracles coming true on Halloween often, but in this outfit post I transformed myself into a Moschino Barbie! I was tickled pink (ha!) by the fact I was wearing head to toe current Moschino. The fact that it was all pink is just an added bonus for this girly girl.

This high fashion post all put together by a simple little black dress from Etsy really opened my eyes to how easily such a simple clothing piece can be transformed with the right accessories (and shoes!).

I hope that your 2014 was wonderful and your 2015 be even more grand! If you want any links to the products in these posts, just click each title so you can replicate my style this year!

Happy New Year!
Are you ready for 2015? I'm so excited to ring in the New Year that I decided to share what I'll be wearing so that your New Years outfit and accessories are shiny, sparkly, and full of fun so that you enter 2015 with a smile.

For me, 2015 is starting out to be all about the jewelry you have on with your outfit, so I am extremely happy about The Shopping Bag's New Year sale! Supplying you with the jewels and the confetti so you can party and shine right on into the New Year, The Shopping Bag is giving 25% off jewelry. Yay! Along with your pretty statement piece for the night, The Shopping Bag is supplying you with free confetti to throw at midnight. It's the perfect New Year's package for your glamorous plans. All you have to do is use the code NEWYEAR2015 on your jewelry order, but shop now because this sale ends 12/31 at 11:59 pm EST.

My New Year's outfit is outrageously filled to the brim with sparkle. My favorite jewelry piece in this look is the Carol Bib Necklace from The Shopping Bag. Each rhinestone catches the light to perfection, and goes perfectly with my gold sequined dress. Along with my necklace  I put on the Milana Iridescent Beaded Bracelet from The Shopping Bag. I thought this bracelet gave a fun and soft touch of color to the look with its pink shaded iridescent beads. What's better than iridescent and rhinestones? It's a double whammy in the shiny and sparkle department. Lastly, I come to my glittering Norah Drop Earrings from The Shopping Bag which matched my necklace to the T!

OK, just look at this bag. I'll give you a moment to take in it's style perfection. I've seen this bag along with phone cases like this all over the internet, so I was bound and determined that I would find it and have one to myself - which finally happened thanks to The Shopping Bag and their Luxe Perfume Bottle Clutch. Black, shiny, and giving off that Chanel N° 5 aurora it's my current prized possession. With this bag by your side, you're sure to be a stylistic show stopper.

I hope that your arrival into 2015 holds and abundance of sparkle and confetti cheer from The Shopping Bag. Happy New Year!

High Fashion Meets Etsy

High Fashion Meets Etsy - Step Inside My Closet Featuring: The Shopping Bag, ANNA K. Shop, DSW

Dressing it up or dressing it down, the iconic little black dress, made famous by Coco Chanel, is a forever ultimate classic piece of fashion art. A little black dress can come in all different looks, but my favorite ruffled hem little black dress this holiday season comes from the ANNA K. shop on Etsy.

The ANNA K. shop offers wide selection of clothing from dresses, tops and tees, headpieces, swimwear and more. Priding herself on developing naive, escapist, and minimalistic clothing, Keren, owner of ANNA K., has been working as a fashion designer for ten years. Her dresses are made by a "less is more" motto which is the perfect mentality to have for a perfect casual black dress that can be worn day or night.

I was drawn to this store and her clothing based on her belief that dressing should make us happy, and not be seen as a stressful everyday task. Piecing together your outfits is much like the creative process those in the art world go through. From colors, structures, patterns, and prints, it all should really come down to what pieces make you the happiest and engulfs you with confidence.

This dress from ANNA K. is definitely the prettiest thing that I would want to discover as a gift on Christmas morning. Although high fashion seems to be about everything being over the top and extraordinary, taking the perfect starting piece and dressing it up to the nines is what it's all about. I am all for minimalist clothing. It's easy, simple, and something that is easy to accessorize. I loved that structure of the dress was precise at the top, but with a flare coming from the ruffled hem. Its comfortable fit makes it the perfect dress for all those holiday and New Year parties!

Little black dresses really come to life when paired with the right accessories like my favorite walking work of art, shoes. For all of you that have had heart eyes broken over the price of studded Valentino pumps, I've got you covered. From over one thousand dollars to less than one hundred, these BCBG Paris Darron Pumps from DSW are the next best thing this holiday season. Two toned and giving off an edge with the gold studs, these pumps are more than similar, they look exactly like Valentino is gracing your feet.

Sparkle time! I spiced up this black dress with The Shopping Bag's Daphne Link Chain Necklace. So many layers of sparkle and shine gave the perfect final touch to this outfit! Plus, right now The Shopping Bag is doing a limited time 25% sale on jewelry using the discount code NEWYEARS2015...so I'd get on that if I were you because this ends December 31, 2014!

Sunday Sweets

It's the holiday season, everyone, and let's be real here - food is one of the main focuses of this season. Once December hits I know that my sweet tooth goes into over drive, so I decided to teach you guys my easy Frosty Peppermint Layered Milkshake. Lets make this a very sweet Sunday, cause trust me, this shake is extremely yummy! Be sure to check back each week as I share my favorite holiday treats during the month of December!

The recipe to this shake is incredibly simple and takes no time at all. I'll give you the recipe first and then some fun ways to spice up the appearance of the yummy treat.

Recipe:

2 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream

2 Cups Peppermint Ice Cream

1 Cup Milk Per Shake

Peppermint candies / canes for topping

Chocolate Syrup for topping (Optional)

Since this is going to be a layered milkshake prepare two separate mixtures.
I like to start off making the vanilla layer by putting my ice cream and milk into the blender. Blend that all up until a smooth milkshake consistency manifests and keep from drinking the deliciousness until the end!

The next step would be putting your peppermint ice-cream and milk into a blender and blending it until smooth.

Time to layer! Grab a glass of your choosing and pour one milkshake into the glass at a time, about half way for each milkshake.  I like to make sure that my peppermint ice cream ends up as the top layer because of the perfect holiday toppings that I have for this treat. Plus, the pink of the peppermint ice cream spreads so pretty throughout the shake, giving it a rosy holiday look.

OK, time for the fun part. While day dreaming about all the sweet things that come with the month of December, I stumbled across The Baker's Confections shop on Etsy. Their shop is a cook, baker, or party hosts' dream. I was especially excited by all of the dazzling prints, patterns, and colors that cover their straws, sprinkles, bags, cupcake liners, baking cups, and more. Yes, more!

With a line of eco-friendly baking utensils and a variety of baking tips and tricks, The Baker's Confections is even catching the eye of HGTV. With a blog, Etsy shop, and their new website filled with perfect products for all things food - it's going to be my go-to store for all my holiday parties. Someone ask you to bring a dish to a party? Make yours stand out with their products and perfect baking tips on their blog. All things are hand done by The Baker's Confections owners, Esther Holden and Shauna Osteen. It gives that extra special something to each and every product. Make sure to get your foodie goodies on their website: www.bakerspartyshop.com

Now, back to the shake! Top yours with a delicious chocolate syrup swirl, or crushed peppermint candies. I decided to give mine a festive holiday theme with The Baker's Confections Christmas Snowflake Red Paper Straws and Snowflake Sprinkles. OMG, I never liked sprinkles as a kid, but these sprinkles were so good I could put them on every sweet treat! The straws gave that perfect pinch of color to go along with the peppermint layers, and the snowflake sprinkles produced the winter wonderland theme that I was going for.

Couldn't forget the fashion! I'm wearing a cozy Olive & Oak sweater (similar) with my new favorite 360 Pearl Studs from The Shopping Bag!

Tell me in the comments what your favorite winter treat to make is and if you tried this one out!
