Fur Real

Burr!
I'm a weakling when it comes to cold weather. One gust of cold wind and my teeth will already be chattering. My body's strong disliking for the cold isn't all so bad...because it lets me wear super fabulous statement coats. Ever since fall has hit it seems like I'm gushing about a new favorite statement coat in all of my posts, but I think I found the purrrfect one.

This faux snow leopard coat from The Shopping Bag is a total eye catcher. Even though I've never watched a single episode of Empire, I felt like I was having a total Cookie moment in this coat. It's so luxurious and can be the total focal point (as it should be!) of your outfit. I paired mine with a simple black dress and boots. I'm sorry for gushing, but The Shopping Bag is rolling out so many new stylish arrivals that my heart almost can't take it. Almost. I mean, look at this bag! This dress! It's total and utter madness - and I love it all!

Plus, The Shopping Bag is having a gourd-geous Ghoul's Week by letting you take 31% off your order with the code GHOULSWEEK. Hurry up, because it ends 10/31/15 at midnight!

Also, I happen to be in love with these boots. I first introduced this new purchase in my Halloween post, which, if you haven't checked it out yet you should! There is a beauty giveaway that will blow your mind...and it ends in 2 days! Get on it, girl! Anyways, these Topshop boots are definitely made for walkin'. I love the knee high boot trend, and the suede of these totally nails the currently hyped up '70's vibe.

So fur real, go get yourself a statement coat and let me know what kind you got by tweeting me, @SInsideMyCloset

Skeletons In My Closet

Step Inside My Closet - Skeletons In My Closet - Topshop, Giveaway, Beauty Giveaway, Pacifica, Royal Apothic, Eos, Estee Lauder,
Boo! Oops, did I scare you? Sorry, I just wanted to let you know that you're bootiful. Keep reading for a spooky beauty surprise in this post!

I'm not a total Halloween fanatic, so this year I decided to dress up not in costume, but in an uber fashionable outfit fit for Halloween festivities from Topshop. This bodycon skeleton dress was the perfect amount of dressing up that I needed. It reminds me a lot of the year Kim Kardashian did Halloween in a glam Skeleton costume. But, I frayed away from doing the face paint....

Now, these boots are definitely made for walkin'. Ever since the trend has started I have been in love with knee high boots. It's not that I'm trying to blindly follow any trend that pops up, but I just really truly do love shoes. This suede pair from Topshop has that 70's vibe going on while making this outfit super chic. Not to mention how comfortable they are! The extra padded insoles make these a pair of boots that I will wear whenever I can. Plus, they were the perfect length for my petite height and dress length. The key to knee high boots is that there has to be a little bit of skin showing between your garment and your boots, otherwise you aren't doing any justice for your outfit.

Throwback Thursday

Step Inside My Closet Throwback Thursday - The Golden Lamb, Rag & Bone, Steve Madden, Tee Shop, Timberland

I'm living throwback Thursday quite authentically - in the town of Lebanon, Ohio. The main staple of the town, and my favorite part, is the Golden Lamb. It's a historic building that has catered to many presidents over time, full of quaint characteristics and a comforting old-time feel. The Golden Lamb embodies the feel of the entire town. Quaint, full of history, and the perfect place to feel at home.

I wanted my outfit to resemble the scenery and rich colonial feel of the town by sporting my Steve Madden burgundy military jacket. This jacket, much like this setting, is pretty vintage. Like I've said in previous posts, I love a good statement jacket, and military jackets fit the bill perfectly. The cinched waist and structured design of this jacket makes it look fierce open or closed. Paired with a simple black tee underneath, it's a great garment to throw on with your skinny jeans and favorite pair of boots.

...Speaking of boots. This chic pair of tough combat boots are from Timberland, the mecca of all combat boots. It goes perfectly with my jacket, really adding to the feel of the whole colonial attire.

Walking throughout the city of Lebanon after a full on feast (delish! I recommend the relish platter w/extra pickled watermelon rind + turkey dinner.)  at the Golden Lamb is just the way I like to spend some of my weekends at home. Not to mention the old time ice cream parlor just across the street...

An Eye For Fashion

For contact wearers like me, wearing your glasses isn't always your go-to option. I mean, the point of getting contacts was to limit wearing your glasses. That being said, I never really liked wearing glasses in public, until I realized how cute a pair of frames could look with an outfit.

When I first was introduced to GlassesShop, I got giddy over the vast selections of prescription sunglasses, prescription eyeglasses, and more to choose from. It was like a far or near sighted kid in a candy store, but with items that could make them not only see the world around them through crisp vision, but add style and show their personality with the frames they choose. I know what you're thinking, because I thought about it too, aren't prescription sunglasses and eyeglasses expensive? Why not just stick with the clunky pair I have now? Never fear, GlassesShop offers extremely inexpensive glasses

Plus, they currently have a campaign called First Pair Of Glasses Free, which literally means that you can get your optical glasses and sunglasses for just the price of shipping and handling. Eye think that you will be excited to know that GlassesShop is generously offering my readers 50% off eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses with the code GSHOT50.  Whoa. What better accessories to have for fall than a good book, yummy hot chocolate, and a stylish set of new frames? Nothing. Well, unless it's the coat I'm sporting in this outfit.

Scarce of hot chocolate, I took my stylish set of frames on the hunt with me for a new juicy book to read. I'm getting a little nerdy in this post, but I have always been an avid reader. From fiction, my new favorite genre is fashion. Who wouldn't want to know the history of Chanel? Advice from Rachel Zoe? Relish in the photography of Giorgio Armani?

Statement coats seem to be all the rage right now, and when I laid eyes on this wool tweed jacket from Peter Som, I knew it was just the right over sized statement jacket that I needed. It's structured, but slouchy, and is the perfect coat to make you look like you tried, but not too much. In other words, it's a healthy balance of style, sophistication, and a mindless option.

Since I am on the hunt for a good read, I had this tank to showcase that I am fluent in fashion (or am rather teaching myself to be fluent. Who can keep up?). Paired with a simple pair of black skinny jeans, I adding on my ultimate favorite Franco Sarto booties / heels. These look so very European to me, and I say that in every post, but they just always strike me as very Paris school girl.

Last, but not least, is my trusty Kate Spade bag. It's the perfect size, style, and has the right functionality to be a purse that I take with me everywhere. From traveling to just bopping around the city streets, it's always right there with me.

So, what will you be reading with your new pair of glasses? Let me know in the comments below!
